Presley K. Wesseh has been working as Associate Professor of the School of Management at Xiamen University since September 2018 where he has the core responsibilities of teaching, engaging in scientific research, and supervising students. Prior to his current position, he was Research Fellow with Xiamen University from January 2015 to August 2018. He develops and applies econometric models, computable general equilibrium models, dynamic stochastic general equilibrium models, and optimization models to understand the operations and planning of energy systems, and how they interact with the economy and the environment . His research has attracted funding from reputable Chinese institutions such as i) Ministry of Science and Technology of China, ii) National Natural Science Foundation of China, and iii) Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. Presley has published over 40 academic papers in some of the most authoritative journals in his field including Energy Research & Social Science, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Energy Policy, and Energy Economics. In 2021, Presley received the prestigious award of “Highly Cited Researcher in China“ for the field of Applied Economics awarded by Elsevier, the world's largest publisher of scholarly journals. In addition to his main duties at Xiamen University, Presley also serves in different capacities as Associate Editor with Heliyon Business and Economics (Elsevier journal), and Consultant with the Research and Grant Institute of Ghana (REGIG).
